Video catches Pride flag ripped from NYC home by teens in possible hate crime

Two smiling teens were caught on Ring doorbell video tearing down a Pride flag and stealing it from a Queens home, police said Friday.

The video shows the teens walking by the home on June 12, then eyeing the flag and apparently discussing what to do. One put on a mask, the other a hoodie, and they proceeded to rip the flag from its holder, according to the NYPD.

When the homeowners โ€” two gay men โ€” came home the night of June 12, they realized the flag was gone, police said.

They reviewed the video from their door video and saw the young men vandalizing their home, according to cops.

The Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
