Justice Helen Voutsinas honored by Hellenic Lawyers Association

The Hellenic Lawyers Association recognized its distinguished member, Hon. Helen Voutsinas, a judge of the Appellate Division, Second Department, at its annual Judiciary Night on June 13.

Since her appointment to the Appellate Division in 2019, Justice Voutsinas has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her duties and delivered fair judgments to the people of New York.

Before joining the Appellate Division, she had a distinguished tenure as a Nassau County Appellate Term Judge for the 9th and 10th Judicial Districts. Her judiciary journey began in 2010 when she was first elected to the Nassau County District Court. Justice Voutsinas was elected to the Supreme Court in 2018.

Before her journey on the bench, she made significant contributions as the principal law clerk to Justice Steven Jaeger of the New York State Supreme Court. Earlier, she served as a deputy majority counsel for the county legislature and as an assistant town attorney for North Hempstead.

Justice Voutsinas, a proud alumna of St. Johnโ€™s University School of Law, has been a powerful advocate for the legal community. She served as the president of the Long Island Hispanic Bar Association and the Nassau County Womenโ€™s Bar Association.

Her dedication to her profession is matched by her commitment to her community. Justice Voutsinasโ€™ passion for justice transcends the courtroom. She has championed womenโ€™s rights, pay equity, and work-life balance, and has also co-founded the Nassau County Womenโ€™s Bar Foundation.
