Woman charged with robbery, weapons possession after state trooper shot over the weekend

A 30-year-old woman, Alicia G. Eriole from Schenectady, has been arraigned on charges of robbery and criminal possession of a weapon following a violent traffic stop incident that resulted in a state trooper being shot.

Eriole was driving at over 100 mph on Interstate 88 when Trooper Richard Albert pulled over her SUV. Nelson Troche, Erioleโ€™s passenger, allegedly shot Albert in the arm and shoulder before fleeing the scene.

Troche later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a nearby wooded area, according to state police.

The robbery charges against Eriole stem from her and Trocheโ€™s alleged attempted theft of a pickup truck immediately following the shooting.

The pickup had been hit and disabled by a tractor-trailer whose driver had attempted to block the suspectsโ€™ escape. Eriole surrendered to police as Troche fled into the woods, and Albert was later released from Ellis Hospital after treatment.

Eriole was arraigned on robbery charges Saturday and then on a weapons possession charge on Sunday, with bail set at $100,000 cash or a $500,000 bond.
