NY Lottery: TAKE 5 jackpot prize-winning ticket worth nearly $9K sold on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — One lucky person recently won a TAKE 5 jackpot prize worth nearly $9,000 after purchasing a ticket on Staten Island.

New York Lottery officials announced that jackpot prize tickets were sold for the June 19 TAKE 5 midday drawing — one on Staten Island and one in Brooklyn.

On Staten Island, the winning jackpot ticket was sold at Your Taste Deli at 2524 Forest Ave., in Mariners Harbor. In Brooklyn, the winning ticket was sold at Newkirk Grocery, located at 13 Newkirk Place.

The winning numbers for the June 19 TAKE 5 midday drawing are 2, 15, 24, 33, and 37.

According to lottery officials, the jackpot prize is divided equally among multiple jackpot winners.

TAKE 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39. To win the TAKE 5 jackpot, match the five numbers on your ticket to the winning five-number combination drawn. It costs $1 to play per game.

The drawing is broadcast on television twice daily at 2:30 and 10:30 p.m. TAKE 5 players with midday and evening draws on the same ticket must check their numbers at nylottery.ny.gov to determine if they have the winning numbers for the corresponding midday or evening drawing.

The odds of winning the TAKE 5 jackpot is 1 in 575,757.

A Lottery draw game prize of any amount may be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing.

The New York Lottery continues to be North America’s largest and most profitable Lottery, contributing $3.68 billion in the fiscal year 2021-22 to help support education in New York State.
