NYC subway rider shoved to tracks in Brooklyn

A 50-year-old man was shoved onto the tracks at a Brooklyn subway stop as he tried to calm an unhinged commuter early Wednesday, police said.

The victim was waiting on the Manhattan-bound C train platform at the Rockaway Ave. station in Brownsville about 6 a.m. when another man on the platform began screaming and acting out, witnesses told police.

When the victim approached the man in an attempt to calm him, the man grabbed him and shoved him off the platform.

He landed on the tracks, but didnโ€™t suffer any injuries, cops said. No train was coming into the station at the time.

The suspect ran off as the victim climbed back onto the platform. He refused medical attention when police arrived.

No arrests have been made.

Earlier this month Sarah Arias, 18, was shoved off a J train platform at the 75th St.-Elderts Lane station near Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven by Shameeka Wise, an unhinged woman, who a moment earlier had been arguing with someone else, said police.

Arias, dazed but determined, pulled herself out of the filthy track bed and climbed back up to the platform just in time to make it to her prom.

Wise was arrested a short time after the incident and charged with reckless endangerment and assault, cops said.
