Man robs Central NY bank, flees in getaway car, police say

Cortland, N.Y. — Cortland police are looking for a man who they said robbed a bank Friday morning.

The man, who wore a blue New York Yankees hat and a dark blue sweatshirt, fled in a getaway car driven by a woman wearing red T-Shirt, Cortland police said in a news release.

The man robbed the Tompkins Trust Bank, 36 Main St., around 11:53 a.m. after he slipped a teller a note and took an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The man has a white beard and tattoos on his hands, arms and neck, police said.

The getaway car was a white, four-door Mitsubishi last seen driving north on Church Street.
