New York Liberty star and Central New York native Breanna Stewart was named WNBA All-Star Game starter and captain, the league announced on Sunday.

It’s Stewart’s fifth All-Star game selection and second consecutive as a captain. Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson was named as the other captain for the game, which will take place on July 15 in Las Vegas.

The captains will draft their rosters by selecting first from the pool of eight starters and then they’ll select from a pool of 12 reserves. All-Star Game reserves will be announced on July 1.

Indiana’s Aliyah Boston, Phoenix’s Brittney Griner, Dallas’ Satou Sabally and Los Angeles’ Nneka Ogwumike rounded out the frontcourt starters for the game.

Las Vegas’ Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray, Seattle’s Jewell Loyd and Dallas’ Arike Ogunbowale were selected as frontcourt starters.

The starters were voted in by fans, media and current WNBA players. WNBA head coaches will vote for three guards, five frontcourt players and four players at either position regardless of conference to determine reserve selections.

Stewart is a Cicero-North Syracuse High School graduate who won four NCAA titles with UConn, two WNBA titles with the Seattle Storm, and two Olympic gold medals for Team USA.
