14-year-old killed in another apparent subway surfing incident in NYC, report says

A 14-year-old was killed while allegedly “subway surfing” and fell from a Queens 7 train, according to news outlets.

This latest incident comes a week after another 14-year-old was killed while “subway surfing” on top of a Manhattan-bound L train in Brooklyn.

Police told the New York Post the teenager fell off a train car near the 33rd Street–Rawson Street station around 5:30 p.m.

The teen fell onto a platform, according to the report. He was taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center and died after suffering a traumatic head injury.

Subway surfing has been tied to a number of incidents in New York City the past couple of years.

In May, an alleged “subway surfing” incident claimed the life of a Staten Island teenager, the Advance/SILive.com previously reported.

In February, a 15-year-old boy died after he climbed on top of a J train subway car and hit a beam. In August 2022, a teen lost his arm while trying to climb to the top of a train in Queens, according to a report.
