A man riding a blue scooter tried to rape a 21-year-old woman at a Brooklyn street corner, police said.
Cops on Saturday released surveillance images of the man in the hopes that someone recognizes him.
The victim was nearing the corner of Broadway and Macon St. in Bushwick about 10:20 p.m. Monday when the man rolled over on his scooter.
He got off the scooter, grabbed the woman and told her to be quiet.
He then tried to rip off his victimโs skirt, knocking her to the ground, cops said. The woman cut her hands in the fall.
The woman managed to run away from her attacker and wasnโt further harmed. She refused medical attention when police were called.
The suspect jumped back on his scooter and sped off before cops arrived.
No arrests have been made.
Cops have described the would-be rapist as between 5-foot-8 and 5-10 and about 175 pounds. He is believed to be in his mid-30s and has brown eyes.
He was wearing dark clothing and a red and black striped helmet at the time of the attack, cops said.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
