New coffee shop opens at Saratoga Springs Public Library

SARATOGA SPRINGS – The Saratoga Springs Public Library will celebrate the opening of its new coffee shop July 12. 

The Friends Coffee Shop, on the first floor of the library, opened in mid-June with hours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. The hours are subject to change 

A new coffee shop is open at the Saratoga Springs Public Library.


The coffee shop will sell a variety of hot and cold beverages and snacks. Baked goods will be available from The Bread Basket, a Saratoga Springs shop that donates its profits to charities fighting food insecurity and hunger. 

“We’re thrilled that the Friends have come on board to allow us to bring back an amenity that enhances the library-going experience, and continue to be grateful for their ongoing support of library programs, staff and initiatives,” Ike Pulver, library director, said in a prepared statement. 

The coffee shop is the newest retail establishment run by The Friends, which has promoted and advanced the goals of the library since 1976. The Friends funds enhancements to the library’s facilities, programs and collection through volunteerism and fundraising.

“The Friends are honored to be growing our partnership with the library,” Klare Ingram, Friends board president, said in a statement. “The new coffee shop will allow us to expand how we serve library patrons and staff, as well as how we raise support for the library’s program and services.”
