Victim pronounced dead at a local hospital after shooting in Lansingburgh neighborhood
TROY – A man died in a shooting Sunday in Lansingburgh, police said.
Many details of the incident, including the age of the victim and the time the crime took place, were not immediately disclosed but police said the violence was the culmination of an altercation between the man who died and another person.
The violence took place in the area of 102nd Street and Second Avenue.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before dying at a local hospital.
The killing is the city’s first homicide of the year, though police have dealt with other shootings and reports of gunfire in recent weeks.
Evidence technicians and detectives remained at the scene Sunday evening.
