Schenectady fireworks canceled; Albany Symphony concert moved to Proctors

Heavy rain and lightning are causing changes to Fourth of July celebrations

SCHENECTADY — There are changes to the Fourth of July celebration at Mohawk Harbor Sunday night, as heavy rain and lightning are in the forecast.

The free Albany Symphony performance will be moved to Proctors Theatre and will start at 8 p.m.

However, the fireworks at Mohawk Harbor has been canceled for Sunday night; a future time has not been announced.

Sunday’s ASO program features Music Director David Alan Miller and Albany Symphony musicians performing recent commissions from the 2023 American Music Festival. The performance is open to the public.
