Auburn man accused of threatening people with a sawed-off shotgun

Randall “Randy” Blaisdell, an Auburn resident, was arrested Sunday morning following a domestic incident that reportedly involved threatening others with a firearm, according to Auburn Police Department.

Authorities responded to a call at 11 a.m. at 6 Spring St., Upper Apartment, where they found Blaisdell, 56, allegedly “waving a gun around.”

After APD officers established a perimeter and opened a dialogue with Blaisdell, he was persuaded to exit the apartment and was taken into custody without any further trouble.

Blaisdell is now facing multiple charges, including felony counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree criminal possession of weapon with a previous felony conviction.

Other charges include a misdemeanor-level count of criminal weapon possession, two counts of second-degree menacing, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Blaisdell was arraigned in Cayuga County Centralized Arraignment Part court and is being held without bail at Cayuga County Jail.
