Man killed by 79-year-old driver in Staten Island crash: NYPD

A 79-year-old motorist struck and killed a man crossing a Staten Island street, police said Wednesday.

The 60-year-old victim, who has not been identified, was crossing at the corner of Post and Decker Aves. in Port Richmond at about 8 a.m. Tuesday when an Audi A4 rammed into him, cops said.

First responders found the victim sprawled out on the ground with substantial body injuries.

EMS rushed him to Richmond University Medical Center, but he could not be saved. His name was not immediately released as cops track down family members.

Cops determined that the Audi was making a left turn from Decker Ave. onto Post Ave. when it struck the victim.

The woman behind the wheel remained at the scene and was taken to the same hospital with a knee injury, cops said.

No charges were immediately filed as the investigation into the crash continues, cops said.
