The New York Yankees (48-40) got blown out by the Baltimore Orioles (51-35), 14-1, on Thursday night at Yankee Stadium to split the four-game series after taking the first two.
Luis Severino got lit up again as he gave up six runs on 10 hits over 2 2/3 innings, raising his season ERA to 7.38.
Albert Abreu was just as bad in relief as he allowed six runs and recorded just two outs. Wandy Peralta also surrendered a run while Deivi García, Ron Marinaccio, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa posted scoreless outings.
New York, who was outhit 20-6, plated its lone run in the ninth on a fielding error.
The Yankees will try to rebound on Friday when they begin a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs at Yankee Stadium. Carlos Rodón will make his Yankee debut. The first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
