Jackson helps Milwaukee Bucks to victory over Pickett’s Nuggets in Las Vegas

In their NBA Summer League debuts, Amsterdam native and Albany Academy graduate Andre Jackson Jr. had nine points and six assists while former Siena point guard Jalen Pickett had 12 points, six rebounds and five assists in the Milwaukee Bucksโ 92-85 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Jackson, a 6-foot-6 guard, was a second-round pick of the Bucks out of national champion UConn in the June 22 NBA draft. He was chosen four selections after Pickett, also a second-round pick, who was drafted by the Indiana Pacers and then traded to the NBA champion Nuggets.ย
Pickett played the past two seasons at Penn State after transferring from Siena.
On Friday, Pickett scored on Jackson with a lane floater to give Denver an 8-4 lead. Jackson responded later with a baseline drive for a dunk and a block from behind of Denverโsย Ismael Kamagate.
Jackson shot 2-for-8 from the field and 0-for-4 from 3-point range with three rebounds and four turnovers in 25 minutes. Pickett was 5-for-9 from the floor and 2-for-4 from behind the arc with three steals and three turnovers in 33 minutes.
Pickett has signed a four-year, $8.3 million contract with the Nuggets, including $5.9 million guaranteed, according toย spotrac.com. No signing has been reported yet for Jackson with the Bucks.
