Sabres drop second straight in Boston

The Buffalo Sabres trailed just 2-0 after 40 minutes against the best team in the NHL but came out in the third period and collapsed as they fell 7-1 to the Boston Bruins on Thursday night at the TD Garden. With the loss, the Sabres dropped to 31-25-4 (66 points) on the season.

Casey Mittelstadt scored the lone goal, his 10th of the season. Peyton Krebs and JJ Peterka collected assists, while Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 35-of-39 shots.

Buffalo went 0-for-3 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
