3 cops, civilian taken to hospital after NYPD vehicle crash on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — An NYPD vehicle was involved in a crash on Victory Boulevard in Tompkinsville Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency units responded to the scene at Victory Boulevard and Bay Street around 2:30 p.m., according to police.

Three police officers and one civilian were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries, according to a spokeswoman for the NYPD.

The NYPD vehicle could be seen on the curb at that intersection with significant front-end damage. The front driver’s side tire became detached from the vehicle’s rim.
