The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office gave an update on an early-morning fire in the town of Geneva.
Around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday first responders were called to County Road 6 for a structure fire.
Deputies responded with Northside, Geneva, White Springs, and Oaks Corners fire departments finding a garage, attached to a home, fully-engulfed in flames. The eastern portion of the residence was also on fire, deputies said.
Both residents, identified as a 78- and 54-year-old were able to escape without serious injury.
Deputies said the house was a total loss, and the Red Cross responded to the scene to aid the victims. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
