Finger Lakes Health Rehabilitation Services announced its upcoming free Community Mobility Screening Program for residents aged 65 and older. The initiative, scheduled for Thursday, July 20, will take place at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan and the Garnsey Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at Geneva General Hospital.
The screening is designed to assess participantsโ risk for falls, identify strength deficits, and pinpoint balance issues by comparing their scores with those of their peers. The goal of this initiative is to maintain the independence of community-dwelling seniors by offering a comprehensive report card on their mobility.
Each screening will last approximately 30 minutes and will be conducted on the third Thursday of every month. Due to limited availability, Finger Lakes Health urges interested parties to secure their spots by calling 315-787-4570 (Geneva) or 315-531-2577 (Penn Yan). Registrations can also be made online at www.flhealth.org/events.
