TROY – City detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday near 6th Avenue and Swift Street.
Police said one person was struck by gunfire and was taken to a hospital with what police were told are serious injuries. A police presence will remain at the scene to investigate.
Early indications are a dispute occurred between two groups of people, which led to the intentional shooting of the victim, police said. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
