And with the addition of Aaron Rodgers, people are looking for the Jets to do big things this year. Really big – like win the Super Bowl.

Louis Riddick sounded off with his expectations on ESPN:

“All last year. What was it? ‘If we had a quarterback we would be winning the division. We’d be smoking Buffalo. New England wouldn’t even be in the picture. We can deal with Kansas City we can deal with Cincinatti. We’d be as good as anybody.’ Well, what did they do this offseason? They went all in they got the four-time MVP. He brought his offensive coordinator [Nathaniel Hackett] he brought a couple of his boys in [Alan] Lazard and [Randall] Cobb. They have firepower on the perimeter. They’ve got a shutdown-type caliber defense. No. win the Super Bowl, or shut up. Those are your options.”

The Jets finished 7-10 last season after dropping their last six games. After that, they made an offseason splash and picked up Rodgers.

It took 40 days for the Jets and the Packers to work out the Rodgers deal when he declared his “intention” to join Jets – which was finalized in April. The Jets sent this year’s No. 13 pick, a second-round pick (No. 42), a sixth-rounder (No. 207) and a conditional 2024 second-round pick to Green Bay in exchange for the No. 15 pick, Green Bay’s fifth-round pick (No. 170), and, of course, Rodgers. The 2024 conditional pick becomes a first-round pick if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the snaps this season.
