The entire upper level of the span was closed in both directions due to police activity around 12:30 p.m., according to the MTA.

According to preliminary information from the NYPD, police were in pursuit of two individuals sought for questioning in connection to a possible stolen vehicle and alleged home invasion in New Jersey.

The NYPD could not immediately provide information on whether the individuals were taken into custody.
