Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Middle Village that left one man dead and another man injured on Sunday.
Police from the 104th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting at 79-45 Metropolitan Ave. just before 3:30 a.m. on July 23. Upon their arrival, officers found a 19-year-old man with a a gunshot wound to the torso.
EMS arrived at the scene and transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was pronounced dead. His identity identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Additionally, police say a 21-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his arm and was transported, by private means, to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.
A police spokesperson could not say how the two victims were related or what the motive behind the shooting was. Additionally, the spokesperson could not say if there was a suspect or person of interest behind the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing.
