A woman was arrested in Wayne County on July 23 following a fatal accident. According to State Police, they responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian on East Port Bay Road in the village of Wolcott around 12:40 a.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Lindsay M. Naab, 26, of Derby hit her 57-year-old mother with her 2024 Chevy Trax.
Despite life-saving measures attempted at the scene by Emergency Medical Services and Troopers, Annette M. Naab, could not be saved. She sustained severe injuries from the incident and was pronounced dead at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.
Lindsay Naab was arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter, first-degree vehicular manslaughter, and felony DWI.
She was processed at SP Wolcott and later taken to Wayne County Jail for CAP arraignment. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
