For the final time this regular season, the Yankees and Mets will square off this time for two games in the Bronx starting on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.
The two New York organizations split the first rendition of this year’s Subway Series. The Yankees won the first matchup 7-6 in a come-from-behind victory while the Mets’ won 4-3 in 10 innings at Citi Field in mid-June.
As of July 24, both the Mets and Yankees are on the outside looking in when it comes to making the playoffs. The Yankees are two games back of the third wild card spot in the American League. The Mets on the other hand sit 7.5 games behind the final wild card team in the San Diego Padres.
On FanDuel Sportsbook, the Yankees are a slight underdog at +164 to make the postseason while the Mets are currently a longshot at 6-1 odds (+600).
Here are my picks and predictions for the battle in the Bronx on Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Verlander had his best start in nearly two months as he went eight strong innings and struck out seven while conceding just three hits and a run in a 5-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox on July 19.
Since the beginning of June, Verlander has not given up more than three runs in seven of nine appearances. One of those starts included the first meeting of the…
