Renegades win on the road

Hickory, N.C. (July 26, 2023) — Four home runs and a stellar pitching performance led the way for the Hudson Valley Renegades in a 7-0 victory over the Hickory Crawdads on Wednesday night at L.P. Frans Stadium.  Spencer Henson got the Renegades on the board with a solo home run off Nick Lockhart in the top of the second. The blast was Henson’s 11th of the season, a new career high.

The Renegades got some insurance in the top of the eighth when Christopher Familia blasted a grand slam to center off Yohanse Morel to extend the lead to 6-0. It was the third grand slam of the season hit by the Renegades.

Aldenis Sanchez led off the top of the ninth with a solo home run to left off Jackson Kelley to grow the advantage to 7-0. Jack Neely finished the victory with 2.0 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Wednesday’s victory was the eighth shutout of the season thrown by the Renegades, and the second in their last four games.
