STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – They’ve lost their supermarket, a treasured pork store and a quaint mom-and-pop card shop. And now residents who live in close proximity to Evergreen Plaza in Great Kills fear that those consecutive closures signal that the strip mall is being cleared for residential use.
