It’s Thursday morning in New York City, where our retired subway cars have been acing their role as an artificial reef off the coast of South Carolina.
More than two decades ago, the shells of 200 train cars were repurposed under the sea as part of an experiment to provide a new habitat for marine life. The experiment seems to be working, as the old train cars are bustling with life.
