Supervisor Barrett seeks his 13th term
CLIFTON PARK — The town Republican Committee has named its slate of candidates for this November’s local elections.
Long-time incumbent Supervisor Phil Barrett will top the ticket with Angela Thompson as the town’s second Saratoga County supervisor. Barrett has been the town’s supervisor for 24 years and will seek a 13th term.
Thompson, who is a caseworker, is stepping into the at-large role that was held by Jonathan Schopf since 2016.
The committee also endorsed new Town Board members Agatha Reid and Christopher O’Hara who were appointed after two board members stepped down in November.
The committee also supports Vida Sheehan for town justice and Teresa Brobston for town clerk. Town employee Michael Traider was endorsed for highway superintendent, a move that passed over the incumbent Republican Highway Superintendent Dahn Bull. Bull will primary Traider in June.
“The Republican candidates for local offices received overwhelming support from the Republican Committee during our recent nomination deliberations,” Republican Chairman Jeff Jones said. “Clifton Park residents will be pleased with the experience, expertise and record of delivering results represented by this distinguished group of public servants.”
