Catholic Charities golf outing September 18 at West Hills

GOSHEN- Reservations are now open for Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster’s 17th annual Golf for Charity Outing. This great day of golfing for a cause will be hosted on Monday, September 18, at West Hills Country Club in Middletown.  The event raises much-needed funds to support the not-for-profit human service agency’s mission to provide help and create hope for those in need in Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties.  Catholic Charities provides important community-based programs, including addiction treatment, prevention, and education, social safety net supports, such as assistance with food, shelter, and other basic human needs, and immigration legal aid.

“Catholic Charities is committed to helping our neighbors in need,” said Shannon Kelly, CEO, Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster.  “Responding to the growing requests has stretched our budget and other resources thin.  Funds raised from the Golf for Charity Outing will help Catholic Charities continue to provide aid and support to individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meets,” added Ms. Kelly.

Golfers will be greeted with a light breakfast during the check-in reception.  The “scramble” format will tee off with a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start, and a barbecue lunch will be served on the course.  Prizes, raffles, and other festivities will wrap up the day with a buffet dinner under the tent.  On the course contests will include hole-in-one, closest-to-the-pin, and longest drive. It’s a fun-filled day of golf for players of all experience levels.

“Each year, the Golf for Charity Outing provides us with an opportunity to reconnect with friends, colleagues, and community partners for a great day of golf while supporting Catholic Charities’ commitment to serving our neighbors in need, regardless of religion or ability to pay,” said Tom Larsen, Golf Outing Chair and Senior Vice President of Government & Public Relations for Mediacom…
