After an injury-riddled 2022 season, Azeez Ojulari is primed for a breakout season with the Giants.
Bill Barnwell of ESPN compiled a list of players he thinks have breakout potential for this season, and he includes Ojulari.
Per Barnwell: “…if he stays healthy and only slips a little, we could be talking about him and Kayvon Thibodeaux as one of the best young edge rushing duos in football.”
Ojulari missed 10 games last season due to hamstring, calf and ankle injuries and also suffered a thigh bruise that took him out of the Wild Card win over the Vikings. The 23-year-old has implemented a new strategy to prevent injury this year: yoga.

“Really just more stretching,” he told reporters Friday. “More stretching incorporated some yoga into my routine, and those were the main two things that I really added.
“I talked to some people around, teammates and stuff, but for me, I just wanted better for myself. I just want to do whatever I can to help myself and my team.”
Because of his injuries, Ojulari was limited to just 230 defensive snaps but still managed to record 5.5 sacks.
“Everything happened for a reason, but it sucked,” said Ojulari. “It’s in the past now and I’m focused on this year and put that behind me and [I’m] ready to go this year, for sure.”
