KINGSTON- Congressman Pat Ryan announced the full August schedule for his Constituent Advocacy Resources Empowerment Services (C.A.R.E.S.) Van. The van, staffed by highly-trained caseworkers from the Congressman’s team, provides direct assistance to constituents across NY-18 – ensuring people can access everything from Veterans’ benefits to flood recovery assistance right in their own community. Building off the success of last week’s event, which helped nearly 100 constituents impacted by the flood, the next stop will be Wednesday August 9, 2023, at the Cornwall Senior and Community Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
“Hudson Valley families shouldn’t have to navigate a web of programs to get relief from last month’s devastating floods. That’s why we’re deploying our C.A.R.E.S. Van to simplify the recovery process and deliver direct support to constituents right in their own community,” said Representative Ryan. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished with the C.A.R.E.S. Van already this summer, including bringing a coalition of flood recovery resources to aid families in Highland Falls, helping seniors access Social Security at the Dutchess County Senior Picnic and assisting veterans in getting their PACT Act disability payments in Poughkeepsie. We’ll be at every municipality in NY-18, so bring your neighbors and come join us!”
Congressman Ryan’s C.A.R.E.S. Van assists constituents of NY-18 in accessing earned benefits, such as Veterans’ Affairs benefits and Social Security, federal grant funding, passports and visas, immigration and naturalization services, and resolving issues with federal agencies, such as the Internal Revenue Service.
Congressman Ryan has utilized the C.A.R.E.S. Van to assemble a coalition of community partners to deliver flood recovery resources during on-site events in communities impacted by July’s devastating flooding. The event on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, will include RUPCO, Senator…
