West Shore Expressway: All lanes briefly shut down to pull car from side of road

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — All lanes of the northbound West Shore Expressway were briefly closed Thursday morning as a tow truck worked to pull a vehicle off the side of the road.

It was not immediately clear how the car, a gray sedan that suffered significant damage, ended up near the wooded area located just after the South Avenue exit. The FDNY did not immediately respond for a request for information, including if anyone was injured.
