A high-speed pursuit initiated by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office ended in a crash early Friday morning on State Route 14 in Lyons.
Deputies first spotted the vehicle speeding east on State Route 104 in Sodus before it turned south onto State Route 14.
The driver, identified as Joseph G. Shaffer, 19, of Lyons lost control and veered off the roadway in Lyons.
Shaffer was rushed to Strong Hospital with injuries.
Authorities were assisted at the scene by Eastern Wayne Ambulance and the Lyons Fire Department.
The investigation is ongoing.
