New Hartford, NY – A car accident Sunday afternoon in New Hartford has left a 75-year-old woman dead.
Diane Schafer of New Hartford was driving west on Seneca Turnpike near the intersection with Woods Highway at about 2:30 p.m. when she hit another vehicle, according to New Hartford police.
The other vehicle’s driver, Judson Chandler, 64, of Vernon Center, was attempting to make a U-turn, police said.
Schafer was transported by ambulance to a hospital with serious injuries, police said. She died Sunday night.
Police said the investigation is continuing, and no tickets have been issued to date.
