The New York Mets (54-66) had their two-game win streak snapped with a 7-4 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates (54-66) on Tuesday night at Citi Field after the bullpen melted down in the late innings.ย
The game was tied at one going into the seventh, but New Yorkโs bullpen gave up six runs, and the offense couldnโt pull off a comeback.ย
Brandon Nimmo, DJ Stewart, and Jonathan Arauz all went deep in the loss. Nimmo and Stewart combined for four of the teamโs seven hits.ย
David Peterson allowed a run over the first 3 2/3 innings before Jose Butto and Grant Hartwig each gave up three in relief.ย
The Mets will hand the ball to Tylor Megill in the series finale on Wednesday at 1:10 p.m.ย
