A full slate of Major League Baseball games is on tap for Tuesday, Aug. 15, giving fantasy players no shortage of options to lock in their DFS picks tonight. The Guardians and Reds will battle in an Ohio showdown, while the Blue Jays and Phillies will continue their pursuit of wild card berths.Â

MLB DFS Picks (August 15, 2023)
Pete Alonso
It’s been a mess of a season for the New York Mets, but Pete Alonso is still tracking a 45+ homer season. Over his last seven games, the Mets first baseman is hitting only .200 but has managed to post a .979 OPS. Tonight, he will face Pittsburgh left-hander Bailey Falter, who enters with an 0-7 record and a 5.21 ERA.
Falter was acquired by Pittsburgh from Philadelphia where he fell out of a favor after a disastrous start in the back of the Phillies rotation. A reliable option down the stretch in 2022, Falter spent too much time in the middle of the plate and paid for it before being demoted to triple-A.
Now back in the big leagues, Falter will look to rebound after allowing eight hits and four runs over four innings against the Braves last week. That said, this should be one of the most favorable matchups for any hitter tonight. Falter has yielded six homers to right-handed hitters, while also allowing them to hit .298 against. Alonso, meanwhile, already has nine homers since the All-Star break. He has Falter in his book, too, homering off him once in four at-bats.
