MOUNTAIN DALE – Fallsburg Police are investigating who stole a sculpture of a bare-breasted pregnant mannequin from a public park in the hamlet of Mountain Dale.
Artist Mike Osterhout that it was “a good time” to put the new piece in the park, but Sara Brancato, co-owner of the Dale Restaurant next to the park, is concerned about the vandalism.
“There is a lot of hate right now from it all and that’s not what we want. Especially during these divisive times, it’s turning me off, it’s turning a lot of people off,” she said.
Brancato said the vandalism “violates our rights and freedom of expression, and that hurts deep in my core.”
