NEW ROCHELLE – Two men who met up with a pair who was going to sell them a SONY PlayStation they advertised online, wound up robbing them of $300 at gunpoint, New Rochelle Police said.
This all went down around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
The victims, ages 33 and 21, met up with the supposed sellers and had them drive to two other locations before they got in their car, pulled a gun and made off with the cash. The bandits fed on foot.
They were described as being black, in their late teens or early 20s, wearing all black clothing.
New Rochelle Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call them at 914-654-2300.
Police recommend that anyone involved in an internet-based sale to use caution when meeting the seller and to select a safe location to do so, such as a local police department lobby.
