STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— While accused Long Island serial killer Rex Heuermann has been meeting with a clergyman in jail, reports reveal claims from two sex workers of violent encounters with the defendant, according to reports.
The women have claimed that Heuermann was “violent” and “aggressive,” authorities said this week.
The Suffolk County’s anti-human trafficking unit interviewed the women, Sheriff Errol Toulon Jr. told Newsday.
Neither woman was injured during the encounters, though Toulon Jr. presumed in his statements that “a person of that size being a little aggressive was probably frightening.”
Heuermann has been housed at the Suffolk County jail facility in Riverhead, where he is meeting with a clergyman once a week.
“I have not seen any emotion from him, (he is) very emotionless,” the sheriff said.
Heuermann spends 18 to 20 hours a day in his 60-square-foot cell, where he has access to books, television, newspaper and mail, the sheriff said.
He also goes for walks alone in a small recreation area.
