Elton John, 76, hospitalized after accident in South of France

Legendary singer Elton John, 76, was briefly hospitalized after a non-life-threatening accident in his home in Nice, France, over the weekend, per the Daily Mail.

The โ€œCandle in the Windโ€ star had fallen at home in the South of France and was taken to Princess Grace Hospitalโ€™s orthopedic center, Monaco, where he was treated.

โ€œWe can confirm that following a slip yesterday at his home in the South of France, Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure,โ€ Johnโ€™s rep said, Monday morning.

โ€œFollowing check ups, he was immediately discharged this morning [Aug. 28] and is now back at home and in good health.โ€

The โ€œIโ€™m Still Standingโ€ star has been summering in the French Riviera with his husband, David Furnich, and children, sons Zachary, 12, and Elijah, 10.

He was last seen on his superyacht with celebrity pals in St Tropez on August 22.

During his farewell concert, the Grammy winner thanked his fans for suppporting him throughout his decades-long musical career, as he churched out cherished hits like โ€œDaniel,โ€ โ€œCan You Feel the Love,โ€ โ€œGoodbye Yellow Brick Road,โ€ and โ€œRocket Man.โ€

โ€œI canโ€™t tell you how much Iโ€™m going to miss the fans and how much their support has humbled me โ€” it will stay with me forever,โ€ he said.
