Yankees announcer Michael Kay gets some hurtful news

Michael Kay is not the most popular member of the Kay Rod Cast.

During Sunday night’s Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants game, viewers responded to a poll that asked them about their favorite part of the alternate broadcast. Six options were provided: Michael Kay, Alex Rodriguez, The Guests, The Tweets, The Laughs and John Olerud.

Kay only received 6% of the vote, while The Guests earned 44% of votes, and Rodriguez finished with 21%. The Laughs and John Olerud got 11% of the vote as well.

ESPN announced the pairing of Kay and Rodriguez in 2022. Kay, who is the television voice of the New York Yankees, has called games on ESPN2 this summer, including the London game between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals.

During the guest segments, Rodriguez tends to do the interview while Kay is in the background. Some of the guests from last night included Theo Epstein and Bob Costas.
