It’s Tuesday morning in New York City and despite David Simon’s loathing of our traffic cameras, speeding in the city has actually slowed down since they started monitoring school zones 24/7.

Data from the Department of Transportation shows speeding in school zones violations decreased by 30 percent and traffic deaths also fell 25 percent since the cameras began operating around the clock.
