POUGHKEEPSIE- According to a report released by Dutchess County Comptroller Robin Lois the county has received a total of $57,148,397 in America Rescue Plan (ARP) funds and has since spent $22,814,448, of which $1,389,054 was spent in the second quarter of 2023.ย Loisโ report indicated the remaining funds, totaling $34,333,949, must be incurred or obligated by the end of 2024.
County payroll and benefits totaling $711,415 represented the single largest expense category of the second quarter followed by Heritage Financial Park (formerly Dutchess Stadium) improvements that came in at $114,565.ย Other top spending lines included the Bowdoin Park archery range at $95,475, the design of the gallery space at the Trolley Barn at $84,467, and sports lighting materials for the stadium at $81,936.
Loisโ report found that the stadium improvement project budget and the housing trust budget on the most recent compliance report does not accurately reflect what is reported in the countyโs financial system.ย Lois is recommending the county address the discrepancy by bringing a resolution to the county legislature for approval to adjust the budgets to what is reported to the federal government and to the public.
