STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Councilmember Joseph Borelli and the city Parks Department are bringing back the annual Movies in the Park series on Staten Island.
“Movies In The Park is one of my favorite events we do each year,” Borelli (R-South Shore) said. “It’s a great opportunity to enjoy our city parks for a free Friday night out with the family during what is usually one of the nicest parts of the year. We have a great lineup this year, and I can’t wait to see everyone there.”
Starting Friday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 29, residents can take in a free movie across various borough parks on the South Shore.
The series will showcase a different movie in a different park each week over four consecutive Fridays. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair or blanket and relish the opportunity to sit back and enjoy a film under the stars.
“We do ask that, if possible, families bring a few non-perishable food items to be collected and donated to local food pantries,” Borelli added.
The following featured films include:
- Friday, Sept. 8: “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” at Seaside Nature Park, Great Kills
- Friday, Sept. 15: “Spider Man Across the Spider Verse” at Bloomingdale Park, Prince’s Bay
- Friday, Sept. 22: “Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark” at Lemon Creek Park, Prince’s Bay
- Friday, Sept. 29: “Sonic the Hedgehog” at Conference House Park, Tottenville
