MID-HUDSON – A Connecticut man who led police on a drunken high-speed chase on Sunday has been issued appearance tickets for his actions.  The incident began on the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam County on Sunday at minutes after 3 p.m..

Theodore Hayes of Waterbury, CT was arrested for the misdemeanors of DWI, fleeing an officer, and obstruction of governmental administration after speeding north on the Taconic State Parkway in excess of 100 mph.  A state trooper attempted to pull the vehicle over and Hayes failed to comply.

Hayes, driving a Mazda 6, continued speeding for approximately two miles before he lost control and struck a guide rail.  The driver, police say, fled the crash scene on foot, and deputies from both the Dutchess and Putnam County Sheriff’s Office assisted the troopers in searching for the man, taking him into custody a short time later.
