Shortly after signing rising star Julian Zakrzewski Hall to a three-and-a-half-year deal, the Red Bulls pulled off another signing of a promising youngster in center forward Tanner Rosborough on Thursday.
“Tanner has shown in our Academy why he is so highly regarded, and we cannot be happier to sign him to his first professional contract,” Red Bulls sporting director Denis Hamlett said. “His skills as a forward at this point in his career have led him to this opportunity, and we know he will take full advantage of it.”
The 15-year-old will join Red Bulls II, the club’s reserve team competing in the second their of American soccer, MLS NEXT PRO, through 2024. The contract will then transfer to MLS as a homegrown deal in 2025.
Rosborough has been an integral part of New York’s U-15 side this season, most notably scoring the game-winning goal in the U-15 MLS NEXT Cup Final against CF Montreal, smashing home the clincher in the 80th minute to complete the comeback in a 2-1 victory. It was only fitting for him to be the hero considering he led the Red Bulls U-15 in goals this year.
The local product was also a member of the United States Youth National Team, which won the U-15 CONCACAF championship.
