Yankees fall below .500 again after series-opening loss to Brewers

The New York Yankees (70-71) fell below .500 again after dropping Friday’s series opener to the Milwaukee Brewers (78-62) by a score of 8-2 at Yankee Stadium.

Box Score

Luis Severino left the game in the top of the fifth inning with what the team called a left-side injury and will undergo further testing on Saturday.

Jasson Domínguez provided all the offense, crushing his fourth Major League home run and becoming the youngest big-league player since 1901 to homer in four of his first seven career games. Aside from that, New York managed just two hits.

Jhony Brito, Jonathan Loáisiga, and Greg Weissert combined to allow five runs after Severino left the contest.

The Yankees will try to even the series on Saturday at 2:05 p.m. with Michael King on the hill.
