Mandatory water conservation order issued for Interlaken

The Village of Interlaken is currently undergoing routine maintenance on its water supply wells, necessitating the importation of bulk water for several days.

In response, the Seneca County Health Department, in collaboration with the Village of Interlaken Department of Public Works, has implemented a mandatory conservation order.

Effective immediately and continuing until further notice, all residents serviced by the Village of Interlaken Water are urged to minimize water consumption. The Village administration is actively working to ensure adequate water availability for consumption and fire emergencies and seeks residentsโ€™ cooperation during this period.

Residents can aid in conservation efforts by implementing various measures, such as only running full loads in dishwashers and washing machines, fixing leaks promptly, taking shorter showers, and refraining from washing cars or watering lawns. For more information or guidance, the Village of Interlaken Water Department can be reached at 607-532-8882, or residents can contact the Seneca County Health Department at 315-539-1945.
